Jake Parker and I are going to be testing out the GoToMeeting software this Thursday at 8:00 PM MST (10:00PM east coast and 7:00PM west coast). Anyone can join us! This is in preparation for our SVS online class starting next week on June 10th.
This meeting will last for an hour or more and we will be drawing, painting, and answering any questions you might have about anything. Basically hanging out and talking shop. I'll be painting that fellow up above - a sketch from my next book - "I know an old Cowpoke who swallowed an Ant."
There will only be space for the first 25 people who log in to the online meeting. First come first serve. Here's how it will work:
10 minutes before the meeting I will post a link to join in the comments section below - I'll also post it on facebook on our SVS page and also on my personal page. If you would like to send me a friend request I'll friend you. If you would like to join on your cellphone or iPad just go to the app store and download the free GoToMeeting app - I have it on my iPad and it works really well.
For PC or Mac you do NOT need to download anything to join the meeting - the link will take you there - it's really easy and works really well.

Hi Will, is this class going to be available to download? Also, I'm having the hardest time calculating the time difference for the class. I live in Sydney, Australia. Is it the same time as Phoenix? ReplyDeleteWe are in the same time zone as Phoenix - however I don't think they do daylight savings time as we do so I'll be they're an hour ahead of us...we are two hours behind New York City and one hour a head of California if that helps...So when it's 10:00 at night in New York City we will be starting our class at 8:00. Hope this helps.

ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea. I had a hard time with the software the last time. Shall try it again, though. Very cool concept on the cowboy/ant... just love the silliness! Try to be there, though I tend to be polyhedron-ish....

can you post if its full as all its doing is freezing on Global helper....I wanted to do the course but this is frustrating not knowing if its froze or what....
ReplyDeleteI do not mind missing if full but the platform just freezes so ughh taking some tylenol- I was excited about the sourse but do not want to deal with a headachey platform. I am on a federal line so not my connection, I waited all week and I guess i am tyoing to myself> can you post a notcie if full on the Citrix online as it just says 'wait a moment to start'

ReplyDeleteI was very impressed with how smooth things went. I think having the test session was a great idea. Can't wait until class starts. I think typing the questions was fine. I'm just wondering if it would slow things down to unmute each person to let them ask the questions. You both seemed to watch the texts good and kept up with what people were asking. Great job !!!
