Quick Sketch

I sketched this out during a really boring meeting and gave myself a half hour to render it in photoshop. I wanted to see how far I could get in just a short amount of time.

  6. HI Kevin,

First I made the sketch in my sketchbook - scanned it - in photoshop I colored it purple and then began lightening up the sky with light blue. I always work from background to foreground and from dark to light. I learned to paint this way and I was really surprised that working in photoshop is so close to painting with acrylic. I transfered my entire process - except the mess. :)

  7. Will but this is so wonderful and in a half hour?! Can I say I dislike you very much?! Just kidding, but I am trying not to covet your talent. ;)

Actually, there is something so fresh about the sparseness of this, it really lacks nothing. A great and fun challenge.

  8. Hey Phyllis - would it help to know that hate many artists?...In a good way. One of them is Jim Madsen - a friend, but I told him "I can't stand you" - "you're too good!" He also beats me in racquetball so there's that too. :)

You can find Jim Madsen on the shannonassociates.com website
